22 June, 1939 - The Enterprise HERMAN WOMAN DIES AT 94 Emily Fennell was born at Roberts Terry, Kentucky March 3, 1845, and died Monday morning, June 19, 1939 at the home of a daughter, Mrs. C. L. Reid at Herman at the age of 94 years, three months and sixteen days. She was married to Isaac Lydick in the fall of 1866, and to this union six children were born, George of Clatonia, Nebraska; Mrs. Alice Coon of Ava, Missouri; Mrs. Florence Gossard of Bloomfield, Nebraska; Mrs. Gertrude Reid of Herman; Mrs. Nettie Andersen of Lexington, Nebraska; Mrs. Minnie Ackerman of Omaha. There are twenty two grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. She was baptized and joined the church of Christ when a young woman. The family moved to Fontanelle in 1887, and it was a happy home until the death of Mr. Lydick on October 22, 1903. Since his death Mrs. Lydick has made her home with her children. The last six years with Mrs. Reid. Funeral services were held at the Reid home at 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon, Rev. A. W. Clarke officiating. A male quartette furnished the music. The body was taken to Fontanelle where a short service was held, and interment made in the cemetery there. ~~~Obituaries courtesy of the Nebraska Washington County Genealogical Society.
