Frederick O. Fritz, 68

Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 9, at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont for Frederick O. Fritz, formerly of Fremont who died January 4, 1990, at the Nebraska Veterans Home in Norfolk, Nebraska, of a probable heart attack. Rev. Dana Mark of St. Timothy Lutheran Church is officiating. Burial is in Memorial Cemetery at Fremont with military graveside services conducted by members of Fremont’s V.F.W. Post 854 and American Legion Post No. 20.

Frederick O. Fritz was born April 25, 1921, at Red Oak, Iowa. He grew up at Red Oak.

After the service he lived in Omaha and worked at the Falstaff Brewery from 1947-1957. He moved to the Spiker area between Arlington and Blair in 1957 and worked at Lazy R Feed Mills, north of Arlington until moving to Fremont in 1975.

He served in the United States Army during World War II for 3 ½ years and was stationed in the Philippines.

He married Helen L. Huddleston April 10, 1945, in Omaha. She preceded him in death on July 13, 1989.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, Orval and Elsie Benau Fritz; brothers, Albert Fritz and Theodore Fritz; and a granddaughter, Kelly Fritz.

He is survived by sons, Stephen Orr of Myrtle Point, Oregon; Karl Fritz of Medford, Oregon; Russell Fritz of Fremont and Fred Wayne Fritz of North Bend; daughters, Betty (Mrs. Gaston) Adcock of Fort Worth, Texas, Joyce (Mrs. Steven) Kubel of Fremont; Susan (Mrs. Preston) Butler of Ocean Side, California; and Marsha (Mrs. Ray) Werst of Fremont; a sister, Marguerite Ballain of Nebraska City; 23 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Roland Rasmussen, David Rasmussen, Tony Ballain, Ron Newby, Vince Andreasen and Jason Andreasen.

Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont is handling the services.
