BLAIRITE, 72, DIED SUDDENLY AT HOME; METHODIST FUNERAL IS HELD

A sudden heart attack proved fatal Friday to Charles F. Rogert, 72, Blair trucker and onetime Herman farmer. Mr. Rogert, after having been downtown earlier, returned to his home at 310 North Third Street and said he was not feeling well. He was dead an hour later.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Monday at First Methodist Church, the Rev. Homer L. Dickerson officiating. Burial followed in Blair Cemetery, with the Campbell Mortuary in charge. Pallbearers were six nephews, Arnold and Alton Rogert, Leonard Petersen, Theodore Weber, William Ziegler and Peter Andersen.

Mr. Rogert, son of John and Wilhelmina Rogert, was born in Germany on Oct. 22, 1878. As a boy seven years old he came to Omaha with his parents. After his father's death, the family moved to the Herman vicinity while Charles Rogert was a young man. Mr. Rogert and Emma Petersen were married Feb. 26, 1901, and would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in three more months.

Mr. and Mrs. Rogert had moved to Blair from Herman in 1941.

Surviving Mr. Rogert are his wife, Emma; two sons, Norman Rogert of Blair and Darlow Rogert of Estherville, Ia.; two daughters, Mrs. Henry Jensen (Gladys) of Omaha and Mrs. Jens E. Jensen (Lola) of Blair. There are three brothers, Albert Rogert of Albert Lea, Minn., Fred Rogert of Linwood, Calif., and Herman Rogert of Blair; also a sister, Mrs. C.K. Andersen of Omaha.

Others survivors include five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Died Suddenly Thursday While At Rest

Chas. F. Rogert died suddenly Friday noon, November 9th, of a heart attack. He had been apparently in good health and had been about his usual duties in the morning. Coming in from his work he laid down to rest and died suddenly.

Deceased was born in Germany Oct. 22, 1978, and was thus past 72 years of age. The family came to America and settled in Omaha where he grew to manhood. On February 26, 1901 he was married to Miss Emma Petersen, the ceremony being performed in Blair.

The young couple went to farming, and continued in the farming business until 1941 when they moved to Blair where they have since resided. Four children were born to them: Gladys (Mrs. Henry Janssen) of Omaha; Lola (Mrs. Jens Jensen) of Blair; Norman of Blair; and Darlow of Estherville, Iowa. The wife, with the children mentioned above, survive him.

Besides these already mentioned, five grandchildren, one great grandchild survive.

Chas. Rogert was a man well liked among men. He was honest, was a good husband and father and neighbor. He harmed no one. He was industrious and his family never wanted the necessities of life.

Funeral services were held last Monday, November 13th, at the Methodist church with Rev. Dickerson officiating, and interment under the supervision of the Campbell Mortuary was made in the Blair cemetery.
