FRANK SIERT DIED MONDAY NIGHT

Frank Siert, well known Blair and Washington county resident, died at the McBride Nursing home in Blair Monday night. He had been sick for a number of weeks but his improved condition had permitted his transfer from the Community Memorial Hospital to the Nursing Home.

Mr. Siert was 85 years of age, having been born February 19, 1874 at Blair. He grew to manhood in this community and on March 21, 1900 was married to Miss Lena Truhlsen, the marriage taking place at Kennard.

The couple engaged in farming on a place two miles north of Kennard which they occupied until their retirement in 1935. At that time they moved to Blair to the house on east South street which has been their home for nearly twenty-five years. The Sierts became the parents of two children, a son, Harry and a daughter, Mrs. Helen Stevensen of Omaha. The son and daughter and Mrs. Siert all survive.

Two brothers , Paul Siert, of Blair and Fred Siert, of Los Angeles, California, and one sister, Miss Kate Siert, of west Washington street, Blair, also survive. There are three grandchildren.

Funeral services are being held this (Thursday) afternoon at the Bendorf Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be nephews. They are Harold Jensen, Alton Jensen, Bob, Bill and Paul Siert and Elmer Truhlsen. Interment will be made in the Blair Cemetery.
