MRS. FRYMAN DEATH VICTIM MONDAY EVE

Came to County in 1866 in Territorial Days. Dies at 83 Years

Mrs. Margaret Ann Summers Fryman of west of Blair passed away Monday evening at 8 o’clock at the age of 83 years following an illness of but two weeks.

Deceased was born in Effingham, Illinois May 2, 1855, and in 1866 when but eleven years of age came with her parents to this county and settled in Cuming City. Their mode of travel on the trip was in the old fashioned covered wagon drawn by oxen.

When about nineteen years of age she was married to Joseph Madison Fryman. To them six children were born, all of whom are living. They are Dennis of Blair; Mrs. Mary Fitch of Payette, Idaho; Joseph of Blair; Mrs. Levi M. Rhoades of Carter, South Dakota; Mrs. R. J. Stone of California and Mrs. Claude Hauschildt of Blair; these with fifteen grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren mourn deeply her passing.

Since coming to Blair she has spent the entire 66 years in this vicinity, 59 years of which she has spent on the farm on which she died. She was a real pioneer mother and bore the hardships of the early days without a murmur. Her husband died a number of years ago, and she journeyed on through life with the companionship of her children.

Long ago all but one of the children were married and made homes of their own. This son, the eldest of the family continued on and the mother kept house for him while he tended the farm.

At her bedside when she passed away all but two of the children were present. They were Mrs. May Fitch of Payette, Idaho and Mrs. J. R. Stone of California. Both of them had paid their mother a visit but a short time back however, and were unable to return on account of the distance.

The funeral service in charge of the Bendorf service is being held this Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock, and interment will be made in the Blair cemetery.
