CHRISTINA FICK DIES AT 81 YEARS

Mrs. Christina Fick, early settler in Blair, died Monday morning in the Convalescent Home in Blair. She was born in Germany on May 17, 1868 and came to Blair in March of 1878.

She grew to womanhood in Blair and was married to Wm. Humphrey, who passed away about fifty-seven years ago. To this marriage two children were born, Mrs. Sam Cheeley being the only one living.

She remarried Mr. Wm. Fick, who died about six years ago. Two children were born to this union, Wm. Fick and Rudolph Fick, both residing in Blair.

Being of the early settlers, Mrs. Fick knew the early history of Blair and had an opportunity of seeing it grow from a village of around nine hundred to its present size. Her father, Fritz Bolster, came to Blair before the family arrived and was running a butcher shop on the site where The Enterprise is now located.

Mrs. Fick was well known for her kindly disposition and for her interest in the welfare of her neighbors and she will be missed from her wide circle of friends.

She was a member of the German Lutheran church and it was from this church that the funeral services were held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Frese officiating and interment under the supervision of the Bendorf Funeral Home was made in the Blair cemetery.
