MRS. L. L. LANTRY SUCCUMBS FRIDAY RITUALS SUNDAY

Resident of Blair Since 1873. Was 88 Years of Age

Mrs. Mary Glidden Lantry passed away on Friday, November 1st, aged 88 years. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio April 18, 1852 and came to Nebraska in 1869, settling first in Fremont and then for a time living at Wisner, Nebraska.

On May 18, 1873 she was married to L. L. Lantry, and they came to Blair where Mr. Lantry went into business and where they made their home until they both passed on.

Mrs. Lantry was widely known in Blair and no one was more loved and respected. She typified the ideal in womanhood as nearly as is possible for mortal being to do, and her friends have a store of pleasant memories and a living example which is worthy of emulation.

Four children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Lantry, two sons and two daughters. The sons died in childhood and the husband passed away February 27, 1924. After his death she still retained her home and in a short time her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. J. Hans Grimm came to live with her and she has been most happy with them.

Besides the two daughters, Mrs. J. Hans Grimm of Blair and Mrs. Earl Brooks of Lincoln, she leaves three grandchildren and one great grandchild. These grieve deeply their great loss.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon rom the Bendorf Funeral Home with Rev. J. H. Roman, former Congregational pastor officiating, and interment was made in the Blair cemetery.

Thus ends a life well spent. Her work is done and her record made is rarely equalled. For sixty six years she was a consistent member of the Congregational church and a long time member of the Monday Afternoon Club. For sixty five years she lived in the same home, and during all those years built up a friendship with her neighbors that will always be a pleasant and helpful memory to them. To such a life one cannot help but bow the head in reverence.
