OSCAR NELSON BURIED WEDNESDAY

Oscar Nelson, farmer living in the vicinity of Spiker, passed away Sunday morning following an illness that had lasted for years.

He was born east of Blair, and had made this county his home for his entire life. At his death he was forty two yeas of age.

He was married in 1919, and the wife and one son survive him. Besides these, he is also survived by six brothers and three sisters and his mother, Mrs. Johanna Nelson of Allen, Nebraska.

Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at ten o’clock from the Bendorf Funeral Home, and the body was taken to Allen, Nebraska for interment.

OSCAR NELSON OF NEAR HERMAN DIES BEFORE SON GETS DIPLOMA

Funeral services were held yesterday morning for Oscar Nelson, 42, farmer living near Herman, just a day before his son, Roland, was to receive his diploma from Blair high school. The commencement exercises are to be held this evening.

Mr. Nelson was buried at Allen, Nebraska, following services at the Bendorf Funeral Home here, at which the Rey. Willard W. Alexander officiated. He died at Court View hospital Sunday of arthritis after being ill two years.

Mr. Nelson was born January 26. 1896.at Kennard and was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church. At the time of his death he was a member of St. John's church at Bell Creek.

As a boy Mr. Nelson attended the Thone school in the western part of the county. He was married May 7, 1919, at Sioux City to Miss Ellen Flake of the Bell Creek neighborhood. They made their home in Dixon county on a farm and in 1923 moved to Cedar county, coming to the Albert Sprick farm in Washington county five years ago.

Mr. Nelson is survived by his wife and one son, Roland. Other survivors are his mother, Mrs. Nels Nelson of Allen; six brothers, Otto and Harry of Newcastle, Algot of Homer, Elmer of Winnebago, Lester of Sioux City and Alvin of Allen, three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Gibbs and Mrs. Lily Cardwell of Sioux City and Mrs. Ellen Stating of Ponca.
