Funeral services for Vernon Ray Jungbluth, who died at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Jungbluth on Thursday evening, were conducted by the Rev. H. Goede of Bennington at the Lutheran church at that place, with a brief service preceding at the home. Both the home and the church were packed to capacity with his many friends and relatives. The church chancel was completely filled with the lovely flowers. Kenneth Golden of Omaha sang “Evening Prayer” and “Softly and Tenderly”. The pallbearers were Charles Lawson, Charles Barney, Warren Barney, Hugh Cooper, Kenneth Lakin and William Lakin, all of Omaha.

Vernon was born on June 3rd, 1913. He attended the grade school in Masters district and later went to Technical High in Omaha, graduating from there in June, 1931. He was one of the popular students there, and was a member of the High school orchestra. He assisted his father in farming and stock feeding until three years ago when he contracted a severe cold, and his health began to fail after which a great deal of his time was spent in Omaha hospitals where he was cared for by his sister, Miss Sylvia, a graduate nurse. He had been bedfast since October. He was a member of the Kountze Memorial church in Omaha, where he was baptized and confirmed in 1928. His wonderful patience and cheerfulness during his long illness won him many new friends.

The out of town friends and relatives who attended the funeral services were from Omaha, Shenandoah, Iowa, Elkhorn, Millard, Blair, Fort Calhoun, Kennard, Arlington, Elk City, Fremont, Valley, Lincoln, Scribner, Washington, Irvington and Bennington. Besides his parents, he is survived by his sister, Miss Sylvia, and two brothers, Kermit and Bernard. Interment was made in the cemetery at Elk City, with the funeral arrangement by the Kenneth Golden Mortuary.
