ELMER BARTON

Elmer Barton, a resident of Washington county, died suddenly Monday morning, apparently from a heart attack. At his death he was cutting wood at DeSoto.

Deceased was born in Edgewood, Effingham county, Illinois on January 5, 1869, and with his parents came to this county when he was nine years of age, the family making the trip in a covered wagon. He was never married. He leaves to mourn his death four sisters, Mrs. Sam McCowan and Mrs. N. C. Nelson of Blair, Mrs. Joe Pixler of Ainsworth and Miss Anna Barton of Blair and two brothers, Lester of Blair and S. T. of Arlington. He also leaves an uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wilson and twenty nephews and nieces and fourteen grand nephews and nieces.

Funeral services are being held this Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the Methodist church, and interment will be made in the Blair cemetery.
