FORMER ARLINGTON RESIDENT DIES

Word reached Arlington the last of the week of the death of a former resident of that place, Conrad Schmehl, aged 66, at his home in Colorado Springs, Colorado January 23.

Mr. Schmehl is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Schmehl, pioneer residents from Beardstown, Illinois, and spent the greater part of his life there, first on a farm and later running a butcher shop in partnership with his brother, William. He was married to Elsie Fassett, and they made their home there for a number of years. The family moved to Dix where they farmed, later moving to Colorado Springs.

Mr. Schmehl is survived by his wife and two sons, Gordon, who is employed in a radio station at Durango, Colorado and Willard, who is a student at the Fort Collins college. One brother, William of Palber and two sisters, Miss Ann Schmehl, also of Dix and Mrs. Mary Barnhard also survive him.
