MRS. J. HILGENKAMP DIES SUDDENLY

Funeral services for Mrs. Sophia Laes Hilgenkamp, widow of John Hilgenkamp, former well known resident of Arlington, were held on Monday at 2 o’clock in Omaha at the Hulse and Reipen mortuary with the Rev. E. T. Otto, pastor of St. Paul’s Lutheran church, officiating.

Mr. Hilgenkamp’s death was sudden and unexpected, and was caused by bronchial and heart trouble. She died while visiting at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Fred Pilsner in Oklahoma city, Oklahoma.

Mrs. Hilgenkamp was born in Schleswig Holstein, Germany on June 2, 1864, and came to the United States in 1882, coming to Cleveland, Ohio. On December 5, 1885 she was married to Henry Laes, and in 1903 they moved to Omaha where Mr. Laes died on August 18, 1913. Mrs. Laes continued to reside there until May 6th, 1918 when she was married to John Hilgenkamp of Arlington. In the fall of 1927 they moved to Omaha where they made their home at 4615 Fontanelle Boulevard where Mr. Hilgenkamp died on March 12, 1933. Mrs. Hilgenkamp continued to make her home in Omaha.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Henry C. Nebe and Mrs. William H. Horton, both of Omaha and Mrs. Fred Pilsner of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and nine grandchildren. Also four stepsons, William, Walter, Henry and Arthur Hilgenkamp, all of Arlington and one stepdaughter, Mrs. William Stork of Wisner.
