JAS. A. FREELAND DIES IN CHICAGO

James A. Freeland, formerly of Blair, died at his home in Chicago Monday. The attributed cause of his death was said to be a heart ailment which culminated in his death after seven months’ illness.

Mr. Freeland came to Blair around 1900, and was interested in the restaurant business. Here he met and married Miss Ida Parish. He afterward moved to Omaha and later to Chicago.

He leaves to mourn his death besides his wife, his daughter, Mrs. F. H. Kinyoun of Omaha, two brothers, Frank of Omaha and Wm. W. of Blair and two sisters, Mrs. Birdie Warrick of Omaha and Mrs. Lilly Bartlett of Blair.

Funeral services will be held in Omaha this Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock, and interment will be made in the Blair cemetery.

FORMER PROMINENT BLAIRITE DIED MONDAY AT CHICAGO, HIS HOME

James A. Freeland, 66, former well-known Blairite, died Monday in Chicago of a heart ailment after an illness of seven months. Once in the restaurant business here and later an Omaha auto dealer, he was president of the Omaha Boarding and Supply Company in Chicago.

Funeral services are being held this afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Brailey & Dorrance Mortuary in Omaha, burial following in Blair Cemetery.

Born in Iowa, Mr. Freeland went to Omaha in about 1905. He was active in Covert Lodge of Masons, the Shrine and Knights Templar.

Surviving him are his wife, Ida; a daughter, Mrs. F.H. Kinyoun, wife of the Omaha city health commissioner; two brothers, W. W. “Bill” Freeland of Blair and Frank of Omaha; and two sisters, Mrs. Lilly Bartlett of Blair and Mrs. Birdie Warrick of Omaha.
