MRS. HANS JEPPERSEN PASSES ON

Death called Mrs. Hans Jeppersen of Kennard on Thursday, January 20th. Mrs. Jeppersen was born in Denmark, and was married there on April 29, 1881, and immediately left for this country coming directly to Omaha.

Most of their married life was spent in this vicinity. For a few years they resided at Plainview, Nebraska, but retired from the farm there and moved back to Kennard where they could be near their old friends.

In 1931 they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary, and the children and old friends gathered to assist them in the festivities. They were a much respected couple, and the neighborhood did everything possible to show their respect on this occasion.

The following year, July 7, 1932, the grim reaper took the husband, and the wife with one daughter lived on in the home until death called Mrs. Jeppersen. Four children, Harry of Kansas City; Mrs. Lama Caldwell of Beverly Hills, California; Mrs. Anne Franke of Omaha and Nora at home, are left to mourn the death of a most loving conscientious mother.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the Danish Evangelical Lutheran church of Kennard with Rev. Joseph Rasmussen officiating, and interment was made in the Kennard cemetery. During the ceremony in the church Gifford L. Dixon sang in his usual touching manner which added greatly to the beauty and impressiveness of the ceremony.
