EARLY WASHINGTON COUNTY RESIDENT DIES AT WINSLOW

Mrs. Chris Niebuhre, one of the early settlers of Washington county, died at her home in Winslow at 5 o'clock on July 13. Mrs. Niebuhr had been ill for about six years, suffering from eczema and complications. For the last few weeks her condition had been critical.

Emma Walters was born at Quincy, Ill., October 30, 1852. She was married to Chris Neibuhr (sic?) April 22, 1871, and a few years later they came to Nebraska, settling on their farm in Washington county, where they lived until about two years ago when they moved to Winslow.

Eight children were born to this union, six of whom are living.

The funeral services were held Sunday forenoon at the Winslow church and the interment was in the cemetery four miles east of Winslow.
