#3 Funeral Leaflet (photo) Sandra Jacobsen was born on August 7, 1935. She married Roger Boquet, her one great love. “When I was 20 years old, I met the most handsome suntanned guy. It was love at first sight. I carefully laid out all the traps and snares, and we were married the following year.” After 35 years, they are together again.

They were blessed with 6 children. We would not be the people we are today without their strength, integrity and unconditional love. Sassy loved her role as grandma—she thirsted for visits, chewed on all conversations and devoured every moment she spent in their presence—she loved them all deeply. The great-grands were beautiful icing on the cake!

Mom was truly an original: life was never boring. She wanted us all raised on a farm, with all that entails—hard work, animals, and freedom. Having a special love for animals, each received their own unique name, such as Agnes Morehead (cow with long eyelashes), Miss Pig (long before the Muppets), Cat (the dog), Frankie (the llama)…

She was an inventor extraordinaire—MacGyver had nothing on her! Mom could do the unimaginable using fabric, yarn, a dremel tool, blow torch, heated red-glowing nail heads—and of course duct tape!

Mom was a talented photographer, with a gifted eye that brought out the unique personality of all her subjects.

Our mother had an extraordinary love for all children, generously sharing her love, time and hugs. She donated her energy to countless organizations, including Blue Birds, School room parent, 4-H, One Way Club, AWANA and Kids Sewing for Kids. Mom truly wanted everyone to feel special, making sure they knew they were always welcome to her home and table.

And then came the quilting… the serger of life!!She was a procurer of all things fabric! Mom poured her heart and soul into everything she sewed. Sewing hats for cancer patients, blankets for medical mission teams in Haiti and the Dominican Republic, assuring each child woke with their own blanket, in addition to all of the blankets and quilts she blessed her family with—each carrying her signature label, “Jesus Loves you”.

Mom spent her life on earth storing up treasures in Heaven. Our mother’s main desire in life was that everyone she met and each of you here today would come to know Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior!

Sandra is survived by her children: Brad (Karna) Boquet, Bambi (Jesse) Bartek, Barrie Breyfogle, Benay (Wally) Edens and Blair (Patty) Boquet. Grandchildren: Levi (Ana), Hannah, Amos, Ezra (Kate), Grace, Katelyn, Jon, Jakob (Kaitlin), Eli, April, Ben, Jordan (Jessica), Tyler, Jaxon, Neowyn (Jerry), Sarah (Matt), Jesse, Shayla (Stephen) and Great-Grandchildren: Elbryan, Chase, Kaya, Faylie, Max, Audrey, Brendan, Giselle, Ivan, Boden, Hattie, Avery, Claire, Oslo, Silas, Rowen, Rose, Ophelia, Kai and finally, Finley—all of whom she prayed for every day by name!

She was preceded in death by her husband Roger, daughter Brandy, sons-in-law, Tom and David, and daughter-in-law Eileen.

“A lot of things have happened to me in my life since then, very good things and some very bad. Yet the bad times have brought me Joy that can only be described to those who have their bad times with Jesus.

He said, I have not left you as orphans. I just love that. I have never achieved Saint Sandra. He has been with me since November 21, 1972. It was really true that first day I heard that Blessed Assurance Jesus is Mine!”—Sandra Boquet
