Donald Frost, 87

Donald Frost, 87, of Blair, died Saturday, June 23, 2001, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Blair. Interment will be at the Blair Cemetery.

Donald Frost was born May 17, 1913, on a farm in Antelope County to Arthur and Sophia (Petersen) Frost. He graduated in 1929 from Brunswick (Neb.) High School.

He took part in family farming until 1933, when he spent a year with the Civilian Conservation Corps in Oregon. When he returned home, he resumed farming.

In 1936, he married Dorothy Gibson in Albion.

In 1956, Mr. Frost left the farm for employment with the Soil Conservation Service. He served in Grant, O’Neill, and Syracuse and in 1964, to Blair, where he retired in 1976.

The family became members of the Congregational Church while residing in Grant. Mr. Frost served on the school board in Antelope County.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; four sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Sharon Frost of Cordova, Alaska, Kenneth and Diane Frost of Boulder, Colo., Richard and Linda Frost of Arvada, Colo., and Dan and Patty Frost of Lahore, Pakistan; 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Clarence Riggs of Spearfish, S.D.

He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, and one great-great-grandchild, six brothers and one sister.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association or the Blair Library.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
