OTTO THADEN DIED AT AGE OF 53

Otto H. Thaden, of Lincoln, a carpenter for the M & O Railroad for the past few years, died Tuesday, March 11th at the Veterans Hospital in Lincoln where he had been a patient for the past several months.

Mr. Thaden had spent most of his life at Norfolk since leaving Blair in 1932. He had lived in Lincoln the past two years.

He was born to Mr. and Mrs. Ute Thaden on a farm northwest of Ft. Calhoun on December 13, 1898. He served one year in the navy during World War II and was a member of the Lutheran Church at Norfolk.

Immediate relatives surviving Mr. Thaden are two sons, Valero and Richard Thaden of Norfolk; his wife, Lorenn, two step-sons, Kenneth and Clayton Gerdes and a step-daughter, Carrol Gerdes, all of Lincoln; his mother, Mrs. Bertha Thaden of Blair, five sisters, Mrs. Herman Kay, Mrs. Fred Dixon, all of Blair, Mrs. C.A. Stekriede of Omaha, Mrs. Harold Haskins of Farmington, Michigan; two brothers, Rudy Thaden of Blair and Rienhard Thaden of Florence.

Funeral services will be held Thursday (today) at the Hodgman-Spain Mortuary in Lincoln with Chaplain T.R. Jones, officiating. Military services will be given at the Memorial Park Cemetery.
