Dorothy Louise Parkinson Spafford, 71, of Ammon, Idaho, passed away Monday, Dec. 30, 2019, at her home.

A funeral service will be held in her honor on Friday, Jan. 10, 2020, at 11 a.m. at the Stone Haven Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (2055 Coronado Street, Ammon, ID 83406) The family will meet with friends Thursday, Jan. 9, 2020, at Eckersell Memorial Chapel (101 W. Main Street, Rigby, ID) from 7 to 8:30 p.m. They will meet again prior to services from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the Stone Haven Ward Chapel. Interment will be in the Ammon City Cemetery. Dorothy Louise Parkinson Spafford, 71, of Ammon, Idaho passed away Monday, December 30, 2019 at her home. She was born February 21, 1948 in St. Anthony, Idaho, the daughter of Eldon Parkinson and Alice Miller Parkinson.

Dorothy attended schools and was working as a secretary with the FBI in Washington, D.C. when she met her husband David Donald Spafford; they were married May 29, 1972 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Provo, Utah Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on June 13, 1973. She has lived in Idaho, Washington, California, Nebraska and Georgia.

Dorothy enjoyed crocheting in her younger years, as she got older she enjoyed cards, bingo, crossword puzzles and working family history.

She is survived by her children, Davina (Tom) Stuart of Palmer, Alaska and D’Nita Spafford of Ammon, Idaho, Donald (Maria Elizabeth) Spafford of Ammon, Idaho, 8 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and 2 on the way.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Donald Spafford. Her parents, 2 sisters, a brother and a grandson.
