Funeral services for Tom B. Mohr, retired carpenter and contractor, were held here on Tuesday afternoon at the Congregational church with the Rev. H. C. Van Valkenburgh officiating. Mr. Mohr had been in failing health for some time, but had not been confined to his home. His death came as a shock to his friends as he had been ill only a few days, and he died on Sunday morning after being confined in the Fremont hospital for a day. Mr. Mohr was born in Allentown, Pa. on August 10, 1866, and came with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. U. Mohr, to Nebraska at the age of three, living with his parents at West Point, Madison, Stanton and Schuyler where his father operated mills. His parents moved here when he was about seven years of age, and he spent practically all of the rest of his life here. He was married on February 8th, 1912 to Mrs. Myrtle Edwards of Fremont, and one daughter was born to this union, Mrs. Bessie Reynolds of Norfolk. A quartet composed of Mrs. Carl Keller, Mrs. Howard Marshall, Wayne Plugge and Harold Walkenhorst sang “In the Garden”, “Abide With Me” and “Nearer My God to Thee” at the services. The pallbearers were Don C. Weber, Lawrence Hall, John Hamming, Jay Blackburn, Chet Menking and Leslie French. Besides his wife and daughter, Mr. Mohr is also survived by a stepdaughter, Miss Marian Edwards of this place, a stepson, Earl Edwards of Chicago, Illinois; two grandchildren, Richard Wayne and Carl Ann Reynolds; five sisters, Mrs. Anna Deihl of Atkinson; Mrs Mary Rosenbaum of Lincoln; Mrs. Judith Shrives and Mrs. Phoneta Hadley of Arlington; Mrs. Ella Long of Fremont; and one brother, John Mohr of Fremont. Relatives from out of town who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Reynolds of Norfolk; Mrs. Ella Long, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Luske, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Long, Mr. and Mrs. John Mohr, all of Fremont; Mr. and Mrs. Warren Royles and Mrs. Jack Morris of Omaha; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Mohr and daughter, Dorothy of Scribner and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Nitz of Yutan.
