At one time Davis was president of the Farmers Union at Ames, and he helped to organize the Ames State bank. He operated a meat market in Fremont at one time, and later was proprietor of the Fidelity laundry. He also farmed near Scribner and North Bend.

Surviving are his wife and eight children: Mrs. Leo Curran, North Bend; Mrs. James Wathen, Omaha; Stanley Davis, Des Moines, Iowa; and Earl, Duane, Carrol Ruth and Rodney Davis, all of Arlington.

Funeral services were held in the chapel of the Fred Bader Funeral Home at Fremont at 3:30 Sunday afternoon with Rev. H. C. Van Valkenburg, Congregational minister at Arlington, officiating. Burial was made in the Ridge cemetery.
