#1-21 Oct., 1937 - The Enterprise EARL JACOBS DIES IN OMAHA

Earl Jacobs, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Jacobs of this city, died in Omaha on October 14th following a short illness.

Earl was born September 6, 1881 at Indianapolis, Indiana, and when but a boy came with his parents to Omaha and later to Blair. He was well known in Blair and had many friends here who will grieve over his death.

He is survived by his wife, one son, Clyde W. Jacobs of Long Beach, California, four daughters, Mrs. Marian Green, Mrs. Helen Meyers and Jean all of Omaha and Mrs. Betty Bennett of Portland, Oregon. He also has two sisters, Mrs. Jennie Brown of Stockton, California and Mrs. Verna Bussie of Albuquerque, New Mexico and three brothers, Lester of Blanco, Colorado, Roy of Blair and Raymond of Chicago.

The funeral services were held in Blair last Sunday at 2 p.m. at the local Methodist church with Rev. Ralph P. Rasmussen officiating, and interment was made in the Blair cemetery.

EARL JACOBS, 56, BURIED AT BLAIR

OMAHAN, FORMER BLAIR RESIDENT, DIES IN HOSPITAL OF PNEUMONIA

Ill with pneumonia for three weeks, Earl W. Jacobs, 56, of Omaha, former proprietor of the Depot store in Blair, died in an Omaha hospital last Thursday afternoon. He was a brother of Roy Jacobs of Blair.

Son of the late Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Jacobs, Blair and Omaha pioneers, he was born September 6, 1881 in Indianapolis, Indiana, and came to Nebraska with them as a small boy, spending most of his life in Blair.

For 15 years, Mr. Jacobs operated the former Depot store, a grocery establishment on East Front Street. For the past six years he had been in the fish business in Omaha. Until a few months ago, when he took over the business, he was a partner in the Jacobs & Boyden Commission company of Omaha. Member of the Hanscom Park Methodist Church, he resided in Omaha at 2518 Woolworth Avenue.

Funeral services were held Saturday at 4 p.m. in Omaha at the Brailey & Dorrance mortuary, and at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Blair Methodist church, the Rev. Ralph P. Rasmussen officiating at the local services. Interment was in Blair Cemetery.

Surviving Mr. Jacobs are his wife, Ada; four daughters, Mrs. Marian Green, Mrs. Helen Myers and Jean, all of Omaha, and Mrs. Betty Bennett, Portland Oregon; a son, Clyde W. Jacobs, Long Beach, California; two grandchildren, John Healy and Earl Charles Bennett; two sisters Mrs. Jennie Brown, Stockton, California, and Mrs. Verna Busse, Albuquerque, New Mexico; and three brothers, Roy Jacobs of Blair, Raymond Jacobs of Chicago and Lester P. Jacobs of Blanca, Colorado.
