POLIO TAKES TWO VICTIMS

Frederick James Nelson of Bennington, age 10 years, passed away last Friday, September 17 at the Covenant hospital in Omaha, a victim of infantile paralysis.

Deceased was born in Kennard, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred S. Nelson. Peter Nelson of west South street Blair is a grandfather and Mr. and Mrs. George Christensen of south of Kennard are grandparents.

The patient was taken to the hospital at 10:00 p.m. and at 11 p.m. became much worse and passed away at 4:00 a.m. the next morning.

A private funeral was held with Rev. H. J. Goede in charge.

Mary Margaret Sullivan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Raymond Sullivan of Herman is reported to have died early this Thursday morning.

Margaret, aged 13 years, was stricken several days ago with infantile paralysis, and was rushed to Omaha where the iron lung was brought into use, but with no result. Thus two have succumbed during the past week in this vicinity.
