MRS. PETRINA RASMUSSEN DIES

Mrs. Petrina Rasmussen of Herman passed away Wednesday morning at 5:20 at the Immanuel hospital in Omaha where she had been confined for several weeks, a patient sufferer from that dread disease cancer. She had been ill for about three years, but was taken violently ill some weeks ago.

Deceased was born in Denmark. She passed her seventy sixth birthday on March 7th. She came to this country when a young woman, and was married to Rasmus Rasmussen in 1880, and they at once set up housekeeping on the farm near Spiker. Here twelve children were born, nine of whom are still living. They are: Mrs. Matilda Linderman of Blair; Mrs. Mary Knudsen and Mrs. Elsie Knudsen of Herman; and Mrs. Julie Timm of Arlington; and Henry, Robert and Louis, all of Herman; and Alfred and James of Tekamah.

The husband passed away on January 8, 1929, and for a time the mother resided on the farm, but for the past four years she spent her time in South Dakota.

She was a member of the Lutheran church at Kennard, and lived a true christian life. In her vicinity Mrs. Rasmussen will be greatly missed by her old friends and her family.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday from the Bendorf funeral Home with Rev. James Lund officiating. Interment will be made in the Orum cemetery.
