Monte L. J. Frye, 54

Services for Monte L. J. Frye, 54, who died at his home in Craig, Nebraska, January 24, 1994, will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 28 at the Craig United Methodist Church in Craig. Rev. Dawn Carder will officiate. Burial will be in the Craig Cemetery with military graveside rites by American Legion Post No. 127 from Craig.

Visitation will be held Thursday from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. at the funeral home and Friday one hour before the service at the church.

Monte L. J. Frye was born June 10, 1939, in Herman to Robert Aquilla and Mattie Jane Whitnack Frye. He attended school in Herman.

At the age of 17, he began driving trucks over the road.

He served in the United States Army and received an honorable medical discharge in 1959.

He married Bea Bushnell. They made their home in Craig.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a step-son, Randy Reed.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda Frye of Craig; three sons, Monte Duane Frye, Jr. of Silver City, New Mexico; Larry Dwight Frye of Apache Junction, Arizona and Robert Aquilla Frye of Delta, Colorado; a step-son, David Reed of Craig; three brothers, Stanley Frye and Robert Frye, both of Blair and Harold Frye of Tekamah; four sisters, Betty Grady of Tekamah, Mary Ann Snyder of Fremont, Alice Mae White of Brookings, Oregon, and Rose Ackerman of Blair and three grandchildren.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Hammel-Peck-Pelan Funeral Home in Tekamah is in charge of arrangements.
