Very loving and compassionate person

Gail E. Lode, 59, of Blair, died Friday, Sept. 9, 2011, at Methodist Hospital in Omaha.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home.

Gail Esther Smith was born July 26, 1952, at Glendive, Mont., to Benny and Esther (Lassle) Smith. She graduated from Terry (Montana) High School and graduated from college in Miles City, Mont.

On June 29, 1974, she married Warren Lode. They moved to Blair in 1998.

Mrs. Lode worked for Crowell Home in the housekeeping department until her health caused her to retire. She was a member of the TOPS organization.

She was a very loving and compassionate person and enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Lynna Lode, Sioux City, Iowa; sons and daughters-in-law, James and JoAnn, Jeff and Katie, Jesse and fiancée Alacia Altemose, all of Blair; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Roy and Roberta Smith, Mountain View, Wyo., Gary and Marcia Smith, Ft. Bridger, Wyo.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Nancy and Keith Wallin, Belle Fouche, S.D., Joyce and Paul Linn, Rapid City, S.D., and Judy and Mike Spicer, Sturgis, S.D.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren, in March 2009.
