ANNA MARIE LARSEN PASSES

Anna Marie Larsen of Herman, was born in Vest Skerninge, Fyn, Denmark December 7, 1886. She was baptized in the Lutheran faith in a church in Vest Skerninge. She came to America, coming directly to Herman in 1907 where she became engaged as a housemaid in the Ray Triplett home for two years.

In 1910 she was united in holy wedlock to J. Peter Larson, and together they made their home in the village of Herman and on the Hill Creek farm.

There were three children born to them, two boys who died in their infancy and one girl, Ella Marie, who died at the age of 12, five years ago last February.

Mrs. Larsen’s illness has been long and severe. A year ago Wednesday, April 14, she submitted to a very critical operation which revealed a very advanced stage of cancer. The operation, however, relieved her severe suffering for a time, and possibly prolonged her life a little. Several weeks ago her suffering became very intense and trying, continuing thus until her death Tuesday afternoon, April 13, at 5:30. Those of us who have gone in and out with her in our homes and hers know her as a true and faithful friend.

Surviving her is her husband, her parents and two brothers in Denmark, one brother in Australia and one sister, Mrs. Ed Fletcher of Herman, Nebraska and many relatives and friends. She was 50 years, 4 months and 6 days of age.

Funeral services were held on Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Herman Baptist church, Rev. Immanuel Petersen in charge. Music was furnished by Miss Dagmar Olson, Mrs. Claude Yowell, Fred Robertson and C. R. Gray, with Mrs. F. B. Shrader at the piano. Interment was made in the Herman cemetery.
