GEORGE JOHNSON

Less than a month after he and Mrs. Johnson had celebrated their golden anniversary, George R. Johnson passed away at his home on East Nebraska street. Mr. and Mrs. Johnson had held open house on February 9, that date being their 50th wedding anniversary on which day they were hosts to many friends and relatives.

Mr. Johnson was born at Garfield, Kentucky on October 30, 1859. He was married to Miss Dora Pate on February 9, 1887 at Custer, Kentucky. To this union was born three children: Wallace, Mrs. Roy Hall of Blair and Mrs. Norman Warrick of Arlington. Also seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Sidney of Franklin, Kentucky; Wills of Big Springs, Kentucky and one sister, Mrs. Mary Board of Custer, Kentucky.

Mr. Johnson was a resident of Blair for the past twenty eight years. He had been a carpenter contractor until the last few years when failing health caused him to retire.

Mr. Johnson was a great home lover and was very devoted to his family.

Funeral services were held at the First Baptist church Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m., the Rev. Thomas J. Reese conducting the service.

Interment was held at the Blair cemetery.
