BLAIR FARMER FOUND DEAD OF MONOXIDE GAS

Supposed to be Suicide. Missing Twenty Four Hours

Paul Widener, 28 years old, was found dead in his car in a ditch Wednesday. He had been missing since the afternoon of the previous day.

On Tuesday he had drawn his WPA check and that was the last, so rumor says, that he was seen. His death from all appearances was of a suicidal nature.

A short hose connected to the exhaust pipe of his car was brought up into the car and all crevices carefully corked and the monoxide gas from the engine apparently caused his death.

Widener was married and leaves a wife and one child besides his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Widener and brother and sister. They all resided on the farm together, but Paul was also a WPA worker. Despondency over the present drouth conditions is given as the cause of the act.

As yet funeral arrangements have not been reported.
