JOHN MONSON, OF KENNARD, PASSES

John Monson, a resident of this county for around fifty three years, died at his home in Kennard on Monday, March 8th. Had he lived until May 13, he would have been 81 years of age.

He was born in Sweden, and in his young manhood came to America making his home in Washington county from the time of his arrival. On February 26 of 1890 he was married to Miss Christina Paulsen, and to them ten children were born, seven of whom are living.

For over thirty years he lived on a farm in the Brewster school district, retiring from active life about four years ago when he and his wife purchased a home in Kennard.

Besides the wife, the children who survive him are: Mrs Anna Andreasen of Omaha; Carl in the Veterans hospital in St. Louis; Martin of Lyons, Nebr.; Mrs. William Farnberg of Blair; Ernest and Elmer of Kennard and Mrs. Carl Bohs of Blair. Nine grandchildren also survive.

Mr. Monson was a man of high type, of a kindly disposition and a good husband and father, and he leaves not only the family but a host of friends who feel deeply his going.

Funeral services are going held in the Danish Lutheran church of Kennard this Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock, and interment is being made in the Kennard cemetery.
