Services are pending. Burial will be in the Craig Cemetery at Craig. Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Monte “Spud” Duane Frye was born Aug. 4, 1960, in Blair to Monte L. J. and Beatrice Glendora (Bushnell) Frye. He attended school in Chandler, Ariz., and graduated from Mountain View High School in Mesa, Ariz.

He joined the Army and spent time in Korea on training maneuvers. His favorite part of this was helicopter rappelling. He loved being a dare devil.

He then began driving the big rigs coast to coast, a job he enjoyed to the fullest. He was always a friendly face; he never met a stranger.

On this part of his life’s journey, he met and married Sherry Cullum on Sept. 2, 1989. The couple had two children, Sarah Gayle born April 13, 1990, and Megan Ann born March 6, 1992. He also had a stepson, Andres Sanchez.

In 1995-96, Frye attended Caterpillar School.

On Aug. 5, 1997, he accepted the Lord at the Liberty Christian Center in Omaha. He began the most exciting part of his life, learning the teachings of our Lord.

He was also employed by Embassy Investigative Corp. at the time of his death.

His life was full of trials and tribulations, but through it all he remained a very loving father, never forgetting his children. He always talked about his girls and how special they were.

He is survived by two daughters, Sarah and Megan of New Mexico; a step-son, Andres Sanchez of New Mexico; his mother and step-father, Beatrice and Butch of Arizona; two brothers, Larry of Arizona and Robert of New York; a step-brother, Jesse, of Arizona; grandmother, Effie; many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.

Memorials may be directed to the Frye family at 1118 Nebraska St., Blair.
