MRS. NICK THONE PASSES AWAY

Mrs. Lena Thone, wife of our townsman, Nick Thone, after a long illness passed away last Sunday, January 17th, at her home on Grant street.

Deceased was born near Fort Calhoun, Nebraska on March 25th, 1868 and was thus 67 years of age at her death.

She was married to Mr. Thone in Herman by the Rev. Francis P. Cook on November 22, 1905, and since that time they have resided in Blair where she has made many friends who will miss her greatly.

Besides the grief-stricken husband, she leaves to mourn her departure four brothers, Henry C. Horn, Christ Horn, John Horn and Lou Horn, all of the Herman neighborhood.

In her social activities Mrs. Thone always did her part in her quiet efficient manner. She was a member of the Monday Afternoon club, of the Royal Neighbors of America, of the Rebekah Lodge No. 27 and of the Pythian Sisters Temple No. 31. So that her life was full of good deeds.

The funeral services were held in the Bendorf funeral Home on Tuesday afternoon, January 19, at 2 o’clock, conducted by the Rev. Bryant Howe, and interment was made in the Herman cemetery.
