MRS. WM. GOSKER, SR. PASSES AT AGE OF 87 YEARS

Born in Germany and Came here in early Seventies

Mrs. William Gosker, Sr. of Arlington died at the home of her son, Edward Gosker, Saturday noon, January 2, from the effects of a stroke at the age of 87 years and one month.

Fredericka Wilhelmina Louise Busse was born December 2, 1849 in Sommerssell Lieppe Detmold, Germany. She was baptized, and at the age of 14 was confirmed, in the Lutheran faith in which she was a faithful member until her death.

February 24, 1874 she was united in marriage to William Gosker, and shortly after came to America and settled on a homestead where she lived since.

To this union six children were born. Her husband died October 12, 1922, and two daughters, Martha and Mrs. Riga Ruwe and one son, William, preceded her in death.

After the death of her husband, she remained on the home place with her son, Edward and family.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Pauline Peterson of Herman; two sons, Henry of Blair and Edward of Arlington; also 17 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 at the home of her son, Edward, and at 2 o’clock at the St. John’s Lutheran church of Vacoma, Rev. W. W. Alexander officiating. Burial was made in the church cemetery.

Six grandsons, Chris and Melvin Ruwe, Merle and Robert Peterson, Delmar and Walter Gosker were pallbearers.
