FORMER CONTAIN DIES IN CALIF.

Gus Carlson passed away at the home of his son, George, in Burbank, California on December 15th at eleven o’clock. He had been in failing health for several years.

Deceased was born on August 13, 1864 in Sweden. At the age of eighteen he came to America. He was married to Minnie Schafersman of Telbasta in 1898. Mr. and Mrs. Carlson lived in Washington County until 1932 when they moved to Pasadena, California. Mrs. Carlson passed away in 1937, and since that time Mr. Carlson had been living with his son in Burbank, California.

Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Peter Petersen, in Sweden; one son, George, in Burbank; five daughters: Mrs. Alfred Menking (Esther), Mrs. Darrel Applegate (Florence), Mrs. Judy Mitzner (Mildred) of Los Angeles; Miss Edna Carlson of Omaha; and Mrs. Harold E. Taylor (Adeline) of Blair. Also ten grandchildren, of whom two are in the service, Captain Robert C. Menking in Germany and William H. Taylor, F1c, at Treasure Island, California.
