Vernon Clifford Stacy was born January 19, 1932 in Glenwood, Iowa to Kit Carson and Madge (Kephart) Stacy. At age nine, they moved to Blair, Nebraska where he graduated from Blair High School in 1950 and entered the Navy during the Korean Campaign from January 1951 and was discharged in November 1954. He was married to Sue Ray in 1950 and had seven children Cindy, Danny, Diana, Melanie, Lisa, Valerie and James. In 1966, he married Peggy Jasa and had two children Tim and Angela. In 1986, he married Fern Bonk and became a beloved step-father to Christina, David, Michael, Joanne, Kathleen and Sharon.
Vernon was proud of his service in the United States Navy where he trained and served as an electrician. After his service, he worked in Insurance, Telephone Lineman, Manager of the Telephone exchange in St. Edward, Nebraska and then owned Stacy Electric in St. Edward until he was hired at Dale Electronics (Vishay) retiring in January of 1994.
Vern, as he liked to be called, had several passions in his life, but his love for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ reigned over all. His love for his family never wavered and spending time with them was important to him. To say Vern was an avid golfer would be a gross understatement. He loved golf and the fellowship of his golf partners. He enjoyed fishing and was a lifelong Nebraska Cornhusker and Kansas City Chiefs fan.
