JAMES H. JENSEN DIES IN LONG BEACH, CALIF.

Member of Pioneer Family. Active In Business And Civic Affairs

News reached Blair recently of the death of James H. Jensen of Long Beach, California on Sunday evening, August 12th, after an illness of several years.

Deceased was born on the old home farm of Soren Jensen on October 4, 1870, and his early education and life was spent in this county. He was married to Miss Hannah Mary Hansen on June 15, 1895, and to them seven children were born, six of whom are still living. The wife passed away October, 1925, and in February of 1927 he married Mrs. Sophia Toft, who survives him.

The surviving children are Mrs. Paul G. Jones of Arlington; Elmer L. of Kennard; Lillard of Omaha; Mrs. Arthur W. Kruse, Anaheim, California; Mrs. Walter F. Gutschow of Blair; and Reginald Jensen of Seattle, Washington.

Deceased is a member of a pioneer family, and he leaves, besides his wife and children, five brothers: Nels, Henry and Ed and Blair; Andrew of Portland, Oregon; Albert of Millard, Nebraska; and four sisters: Mrs. Anna B. Jensen, Blair; Mrs. Mary Voss, Millard, Nebraska; Mrs. Ed Gilbertson and Mrs. Henry Voss of Blair.

The remains will arrive in Fremont on Friday evening, and the funeral will be held on Saturday, and interment will be made in the Kennard Cemetery.

Before going to California, deceased was active in both public and private business, and was one of the prime movers in the old local telephone company that flourished for many years.
