MRS. NANCY SYLVIS DIED JULY 8TH

Mrs. Nancy Sylvis was born on October 30, 1952 in Clearfield County, Pennsylvania, and passed away on July 8, 1945 at an Omaha hospital.

Deceased grew to womanhood in Clearfield County, and on February 3, 1870 she was united in marriage to James Sylvis. To this union twelve children were born, five of whom died in infancy. About 1885 the family moved to Banner County, Nebraska. Later they moved to Washington County and the city of Blair. Her husband passed away on June 27, 1917. One daughter and two sons also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Sylvis was a member of the Methodist Church and the woman’s Relief Corps. For the past ten years she had made her home in Omaha with her son, John.

Deceased leaves to mourn her passing her son, John of Omaha; Mrs. Laura King, also Omaha; Mrs. May Borcherding, Fremont; Charles Sylvis, Sturgis, South Dakota; twenty grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren besides a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral will be held today, Thursday, at 2 p.m. in the Methodist church with Rev. D. D. Kennedy of the Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be made in the Blair cemetery.
