Mary Ann Fuchs, 68

Mary Ann Fuchs, 68, died Monday, Oct. 6, 2003, at her home in Arlington.

Funeral services are 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10, at Arlington Community Church with the Rev. Lynn Martin officiating. Interment will be in the Arlington Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home, with the family receiving friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Visitation will also be held at the church, one hour prior to services.

Mary Ann Fuchs was born Oct. 15, 1934, in Blair to Carl and Violet (Gilliland) Hansen. She grew up in Blair and was a graduate of Blair High School. She attended Dana College for one year.

On May 8, 1964, she married Gene Fuchs at First Lutheran Church in Fremont. After her marriage, the couple lived in Fremont, where Mrs. Fuchs worked as a secretary for Lindsay Soft Water Co. from 1962 to 1967. The Fuchs moved to Arlington in 1968.

Mrs. Fuchs was employed at J. C. Penney & Co. in Fremont from 1967 until 1972 as an audit clerk and then was the city clerk for the Village of Arlington from 1980 until 1994. Most recently, Mrs. Fuchs was a Home Health Care Administrator for the Nebraska Health and Human Services Department.

Mrs. Fuchs was a member of Arlington Community Church, the Clerk’s Association of Nebraska League of Municipalities, and the Three Rivers Clerk’s Association, where she served in several offices of the organization.

She is survived by her husband, Gene; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Patricia Fuchs of Arlington; daughter, Holly Fuchs of Omaha; brother and sister-in-law, James and Sonja Hansen of Blair; sister, Joan B. Ward, and fiancé, Russ Jones, both of Blair; mother-in-law, Leona Fuchs of Arlington; sisters-in-law and spouses, Arlyce and Charles Olson of Missouri Valley, Iowa, Roger and Jan Fuchs of Portland, Ore., and Robert and Cheryl Fuchs of Arlington; two grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and father-in-law, Oswald Fuchs.

Memorials are suggested to the Arlington Fire Department and Rescue Squad, Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Blair, American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, and American Diabetes Association.

Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington is in charge of arrangements.
