PETER THOMSEN RITES TUESDAY, MARCH 27TH

Funeral services for Peter Thomsen, who died at his farm home near here on Friday, were held on Tuesday afternoon at the Methodist Church, with the Rev. David Simpson of Omaha and Rev. A. W Clarke officiating.

The Misses Patty and Gracie Wimer, with their mother, Mrs. A. C. Wimer as accompanist, sang “Beautiful Isle of Somewhere” and “Safe in the Arms of Jesus”.

Deceased was born in Schleswig, Holstein, Germany on July 8, 1894, and came to America at the age of 16 with his parents, settling at Persia, Iowa; later he moved to Bennington. On October 1, 1914 he was married to Miss Mathilda Thompson at Wayne, who, with their three children, Edward and Pearl of Arlington and Cpl. Harold Thomsen of Fort Bragg, North Carolina, survive him. The family moved to this vicinity in 1916. Mr. Thomsen became a citizen of the united States on May 11, 1925.

Also surviving the deceased are four sisters, Mrs. Anna Schimer in Germany; Mrs. Emma Suverkrubbe of Bennington; Mrs. Mathilda Bohn of Hoskins; and Mrs. Vina Moedling of Esmond, South Dakota; also one brother of Winside.

Burial was made in the Arlington cemetery.
