Carl E. Furhman, 61

Memorial service set for Monday

Carl E. Furhman, 61, of Fort Calhoun, died Sept. 14, 2011, in Fort Calhoun.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18, at Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home; with a vigil service at 7 p.m. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 19, also at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Fort Calhoun Cemetery.

Carl Edward Furhman was born July 14, 1950, in Omaha to Otto and Veronica Fuhrman. He was the fourth generation to live on the family farm in Fort Calhoun, and he was a graduate of Fort Calhoun High School.

On June 9, 1979, he married Connie Roberts in Blair.

His main vocation was carpentry, working in the construction industry. His hobbies were bowling, hunting, collecting Budweiser steins, gardening and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Connie; daughters and son-in-law, Kim Pace of Fort Calhoun, and Stephanie Fuhrman and John Reeh of Omaha; son and daughter-in-law, Zach and Katie Fuhrman, also of Omaha; grandchildren, Shea, Josh, Tyler, Savannah, Elizabeth, A.J., Tristan, Jackson, Ahila and Charlie; brother and sister-in-law, Rich and Carol Fuhrman and sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Mike Queen, all of Fort Calhoun.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

VISITATION AND VIGIL SERVICE Sunday, September 18, 2011 from 4-8pm with Vigil Service at 7pm at funeral home. MEMORIAL SERVICE Monday, September 19, 2011 at 11am also at funeral home. Inurnment Fort Calhoun Cemetery. Memorials suggested to the Fuhrman family.
