MRS. LARS HANSEN PASSES AWAY JAN 7

Mrs. Dorthea Hansen, nee Andersen, passed away quietly at Bethany Home, Minden, Nebraska on Sunday, January 7, 1945 after a very brief illness.

Deceased was born in Thisted, Denmark November 1, 1857. There she was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church. October 22, 1887 she was united in marriage to C. T. Petersen, a widower with two small daughters. In the spring of 1888 they came to America, bringing the younger daughter with them, the older remaining with an aunt. They located on a farm near Minden, Nebraska. A son, who died in infancy, was born to this union. In 1907 the Petersens moved to Staplehurst, Nebraska, having purchased a farm there. In 1919 they retired, moving to Blair. Mr. Petersen passed away in December, 1922 after a major operation.
