Lucy Fuhrer, 100

Services were Monday, Jan. 20, at Community Bible Church in Butte, Nebr. for Lucy Fuhrer, 100, who died Jan. 17, 1997. Rev. Darrel Cline officiated. Burial was in the Butte Cemetery.

Lucy Fuhrer was born Jan. 3, 1897, at Worms, Russia, to William and Eva Shue Brumeier. She came to America when she was five years old.

She married Herman Fuhrer Nov. 12, 1914, at Berthoud, Colo. They moved to the Boyd County area shortly after their marriage and she devoted her life to her family.

Due to ill health, she entered the Butte Nursing Home Oct. 11, 1985. She remained there until her death.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman; two sons, Harry and Ben and two infant daughters.

She is survived by two daughters, Gertrude Ahlers of Herrick, SD and Lila Guildner of Denver, Colo.; five sons and daughters-in-law, Bob and Lucille Fuhrer of Blair; Ray and Betty Fuhrer and Lyle and Esther Fuhrer of Naper, Neb.; Al and Betty Fuhrer of Lakewood, Colorado and Frank and Pat Fuhrer of Mesa, Ariz.; 23 grandchildren, including Tammy (Mrs. Shane) Reeh, Debbie Fuhrer and Linda (Mrs. Dennis) Grover, all of Blair; 37 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Casket bearers were Lonny Fuhrer, Lee Fuhrer, Wesley Fuhrer, Clark Fuhrer, Dwight Fuhrer and Keith Fuhrer.

Colleen Kaczor was organist. Jeff Binder was soloist.

Jones-Thenhaus Funeral Home in Spencer, Nebr. was in charge of arrangements.
