MRS. LOUISA LUND FUNERAL MONDAY

Mrs. Louisa Lund, an old settler in this county, passed away August 9, 1944, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Arthur Jensen of Kennard, at the age of 84 years. She had been in failing health for some time.

Mrs. Lund was born in Sweden August 16, 1860, where she grew to womanhood, and was married to Niels Lund on October 29, 1880. Two children were born to them before they left the old country in 1886. After coming to America, they settled in Kennard where the husband secured employment with the Northwestern Railroad.

In 1900 they purchased a farm a mile northeast of Kennard where they made their home for twenty years. Here seven more children were born, and here the husband died on November 24, 1920.

Shortly after this she moved to Kennard where she purchased a home and where she lived until about a year ago when ill health and her extreme old age caused her to make her home with her daughters.

Mrs. Lund was a woman of sterling qualities, sincere and earnest in her life, and was an exceptional wife and mother. She leaves to mourn her passing John on the old home farm; Leonard in Lake Charles, Louisiana; Carl and Elmer in Salina, Kansas; Mrs. Hilda Gehrk and Mrs. Ellen Jensen in Kennard; and Esther Glover, Long Beach, California; also nine grandchildren.

Funeral services were held in the Lutheran church in Kennard with Rev. P. C. Jensen officiating, and interment was made in the Kennard cemetery.
