CHARLES PILCHER DIES IN MINNESOTA

Charles Pilcher of Omaha died suddenly at the home of his son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Pilcher of Minneapolis, Minnesota, on Friday, July 7th. Mr. Pilcher had a severe heart attack in February, but seemed to be steadily improving. Two weeks ago he went to Minneapolis to visit with his son, hoping to be completely recovered upon his return to Omaha in a short time, but death overtook him.

Mr. Pilcher is well known in Washington County, having been born August 1st, 1878 at the home of his parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward Pilcher, northwest of Blair. After uniting in marriage on March 10, 1901 to Jennie Stewart, he and his wife made their home on a farm near the old home place. Three children were born to this union, one daughter, Atha L.; two sons, Everett C. and Robert G. They moved to Omaha in 1925 where Mr. Pilcher took up the work of landscape gardener at the George Prinz home.

Charlie was a friendly, conscientious man, and lived a quiet, unassuming life, finding much satisfaction in working close to nature. He loved his home and family, and was held in high esteem by everyone who knew him.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, July 10th, at the Glendale Funeral Home in Omaha with Dr. A. K. Williams of the St. Paul Methodist church officiating. Burial was made in the Mount Hope cemetery.

Surviving besides his wife, daughter and two sons and their wires, are three granddaughters, Roberta of Minneapolis, Donna and Jeanne of Omaha, one sister, Mrs. Dora Wilson of Blair, and one brother, Lloyd Pilcher of Lincoln. Another son, Brandt Crocker, who the Pilchers took into their home and raised to manhood, is now serving in the navy and located in Miami. Mrs. James Collins of Mundelein, Ill,, and Bernard Graham of Oregon, (his niece and nephew), were also reared in the Pilcher home, following the death of their mother, a sister of Mrs. Pilcher.
