MRS. HOWARD RUGG RITES JANUARY 27

Mrs. Grace Barry Rugg was born April 20, 1898, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Michael Barry of the McCarthy District.

She taught school for a number of years in Washington and Thurston Counties prior to her marriage to Howard Rugg in July, 1929. Following their marriage, the couple moved to Gary, Indiana where they made their home until the time of Mrs. Rugg’s death on Tuesday, January 23rd.

The remains were brought to the Bendorf Funeral home where Rosary was recited Friday evening. Funeral services were held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church, the Rev. Father Thomas Carmody officiating. Requiem Mass was sung by Mrs. Ray Carrol of Laurel, a cousin of Mrs. Rugg.

Besides her husband, Mrs. Rugg leaves to mourn her passing three sisters, Mrs. Mary Thompson of Blair; Mrs. Anna Rose of Ellensburg, Washington; and Mrs. Agnes Sip of Omaha; six brothers, Paul, John and Bryan of Blair; Joe and Charles of Omaha; and James of Los Angeles. All, with the exception of James, were able to be present at the last rites.

Interment was in Holy Cross Cemetery.

#2 Rites Held for Mrs. Rugg

Former Blair Woman Died in Gary; Once Taught in County Schools

Funeral rites for Mrs. Grace Barry Rugg, native of Washington County and a teacher in the rural schools for several years prior to her marriage, were held at St. Francis Borgia Catholic church Saturday morning.

The Rev. Thomas Carmody officiated at the 10am service. Requiem Mass was sung by Mrs. Ray Carrol of Laurel, a cousin of Mrs. Rugg. Rosary was recited the previous evening at Bendorf Funeral Home.

A daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Michael Barry of the McCarthy district, Mrs. Rugg was born on April 20, 1898. She was married to Howard Rugg in July, 1929, and the couple moved to Gary, Indiana. She lived there until her death on Tuesday, January 23.

Besides the husband, Mrs. Rugg leaves to mourn her three sisters: Mrs. Mary Thompson of Blair; Mrs. Anna Rose of Ellensburg, Washington; Mrs. Agnes Sip of Omaha; and six brothers: Paul, John, Bryan of Blair, Joe and Charles of Omaha, James of Los Angeles. All were able to attend except James Barry.
