JUDGE ALBAE H. NELSON IS DEATH VICTIM

County Judge of Washington Co. Succumbs After Operation

HIGHLY RESPECTED AS MAN AND JURIST

County Judge Albae H. Nelson died Wednesday afternoon at 5:30 o’clock in the Dodge County Hospital in Fremont following an operation for gall bladder trouble seven days before.

He was born to Mr. and Mrs. C. John Nelson on the home farm south of Blair on May 3, 1897, and grew to manhood here. He graduated from the Blair High School in the class of 1915, and from the College of Arts and Sciences and the School of Law of the Nebraska State University in 1930.

On September 1, 1937 he was married to Miss Jennie Fellows of Omaha, and shortly after this they went to Bristol, Virginia to live. In 1940 the death of his mother, leaving the father alone, prompted them to return to the home farm where they continued to live until he entered the county judge’s office in April of 1942 which place he has since filled.

Two children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Nelson, Audrey, five years and Judith, nine months old. Besides the widow and children, he leaves his father, one brother, George, and two sisters, Alta of Fremont and Mrs. Oscar Hopkins of Ogden, Utah.

As a man, Judge Nelson was strictly honest and capable. He made an ideal judge and every decision was given careful thought. His one thought was to live the ideal life and this he did as nearly as possible for humanity to do.

Judge Nelson was a member of the Congregational Church and lived the part; he was a Mason of long standing and took an active part in its workings. His life was of the high type that is worthy of emulation.

In his passing his family has lost a loving husband and father, and the community has lost a citizen of the highest type - one whose memory will stand for the highest influence to all who knew him - and the sympathy of the community goes out to the bereaved family in their great sorrow.

Funeral arrangements have not been completed, but will probably be held from the Congregational church on Saturday afternoon at two o’clock with Rev. W. F. Lewis officiating, and interment will be made in the Blair cemetery.
