Otto Fuhrman, 80

Funeral services were Wednesday, September 5 at Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home for Otto Fuhrman, 80, of rural Fort Calhoun who died September 3, 1990, at Blair. Rev. James Schwertley officiated with the rosary on September 4 at the funeral home. Burial was in the Fort Calhoun Cemetery.

Otto Fuhrman was born October 10, 1909, in Fort Calhoun to Henry and Albertina Labs Fuhrman. He attended Fort Calhoun Schools, going through the eighth grade.

He married Veronica Sczepaniak September 6, 1948.

He farmed until his retirement on the farmstead on which he was born and raised.

He was a World War II veteran, serving in the African and European campaigns.

He is survived by his wife, Veronica, Fort Calhoun; sons, Richard and Carl and a daughter, Mary, all of Fort Calhoun; one sister, Margaret Prochnow, Blair; two brothers, Rudy, Herman, and Emil, Blair; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Pallbearers were Mike Novak, Lyle Christensen, Bob Cieslik, Jim Borowiak, Ben Fuhrman and Mike Freburg.

Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for the services.
