MRS. T. WAKEFIELD BURIED SUNDAY

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 at the home for Mrs. Thomas Wakefield, Sr., of Herman, who passed away early Saturday morning after a lingering illness. Rev. A.W. Clarke of the local M.E. church conducted the services. Mrs. F.B. Shrader and Miss Mildred Swanson sang two hymns.

On Monday the remains were taken by auto hearse to Broken Bow, Nebraska, and Tuesday afternoon funeral services were conducted at the Christian church at Lillian, Nebraska, Rev. Clarke in charge. Interment was made in the cemetery in Gates, Nebraska. A number of relatives, with Rev. Clarke and Undertaker Truhlsen accompanied the body there.

Nancy Jane Worth, the daughter of Richard and Mary Worth, was born on August 4, 1871 at Wymore, Gage county, Nebraska and died January 23, 1937 at Herman, Nebraska. She was the eldest daughter of a family and at the age of 7 came to Craig, Nebraska, with her parents in 1878. She was united in marriage to Frank Whitmus on March 16, 1886 at the age of 15 at Wymore, Nebraska. To this union were born four children, Mrs. Mary Coffman, Fred and Floyd, of Broken Bow, Nebraska and Ray of Herman. Frank Whitmus, her husband, died on November 24, 1917. On May 2, 1921, she was united in marriage to Thomas E. Wakefield at Broken Bow, Nebraska.
