GEO. W. McBRIDE DIED WEDNESDAY FOLLOWING STROKE

Early Settler In County. Highly Respected Citizen, Retired Farmer. George W. McBride of this city died in the Lutheran Hospital in Omaha at 3:15 Wednesday afternoon, March 15, following a stroke on Monday afternoon. At the time of the stroke he was at the home of his brother, Frank, who resides south of town. But he rallied and was able to drive his car home.

He grew worse and on Tuesday afternoon was taken to the Lutheran Hospital where he was given treatment, but he failed to rally and grew steadily worse until the end came.

Deceased was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John McBride and when but a boy came to this county with the family from Iowa, where he was born October 10, 1868. The family resided in the Sunnyside school district for years.

He was married in 1896 to Miss Elsie Erwin, and to them on son, Lyle of Omaha, was born. He leaves to mourn him besides the widow and son, three grandchildren, one brother, Frank, and one sister, Mrs. Rachel McDonald, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mr. McBride was a man of marked intelligence, a good citizen and neighbor and all who knew him admired him for his exemplary life.

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 from the Bendorf Funeral Home with Rev. D. D. Kennedy officiating, and interment will be made in the Blair cemetery.
