J. H. DORBECKER FUNERAL TUESDAY

ARLINGTON - Funeral services for John Henry Dorbecker were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock at the Methodist Church with Rev. A. W. Clarke officiating.

Mr. Dorbecker died suddenly Sunday afternoon at the Dodge County Hospital in Fremont where he had been taken sick only a short time. He has been in failing health for the past three and one half months.

He was born October 10, 1862 in Muscatine, Iowa, the eldest of a family of six children.

He was the eldest member of the Hiram Lodge No. 52, A.F. & A.M., and three years ago was presented with the Jordan Medal.

After moving to Arlington, he followed the trade of carpentry and painting, and for the past eight years had also been caretaker of the Arlington cemetery.

He was united in marriage with Charlotte Reckmeyer, who with his two children, Mrs. Ruth Wilson and Homer Dorbecker, both of Omaha, survive him. He was preceded in death by a former wife and three children. Also surviving him are two granddaughters, one great grandchild; three brothers, Fred of Springfield, Mo.; Charles of Corcoran, Mo.; and Otto of Denver, Colo.; and two sisters, Mrs. R. R. King of Los Angeles, California; and Mrs. Dorothea Ludwig of Arlington.

The Masonic Lodge had charge of the ritual services at the cemetery.
